Spring Reset: Clearing Out the Clutter, Inside and Out
There is something about spring that lights a fire in me. It is not just the sunshine and the longer days (though I’ll take both!). It’s this pull toward renewal, not just in my home, my closets, or my calendar, but inside myself.
This season, I have been taking a closer look at my routines. What am I doing? How am I doing it? What am I eating, and why? After a long winter of what I lovingly call "hibernation", working indoors, pouring hours into projects, it is time to wake up my body and my schedule and get ready for something different.
And if I want different, I have to do different.
Shaking Things Up
We all know the quote: “If you keep doing the same thing, you’ll get the same results.” I have felt that truth lately. I have a routine. It is fine. But I want more than fine, I want vitality. Joy. New energy.
For me, one way to shake things up is to get outside. Golf came to mind the other day, and I had this epiphany during my morning walk: I don’t need to wait until I’m good at it to enjoy it, I can just take lessons. Duh. Once I make a commitment, everything changes. I am the type who follows through once I schedule it. Maybe you are too?
And then I remembered: I used to play guitar. I loved it. I let it go for a while, but why not bring it back? A few lessons, some time blocked off, and I could have music in my life again, literally.
There are also classes at the club I have been ignoring, like they are just background noise. But now I’m asking: What if I actually committed to them? What if I put my name down and showed up?
Shake Up Your Routine
None of this is about being “better.” It’s about being awake again. Alive. And choosing how I spend my time, especially the time I spend on me.
So, here is my question for you:
What is your spring reset?
What is one thing you have been meaning to do, or bring back into your life, that might shake up your routine in the best way?
I would love to hear how you motivate yourself to try new things and start new routines. What works? What doesn’t? Drop me a note, I am all ears.
Here’s to clearing out the clutter and making space for joy.
Have a beautiful day.
